Wow, what a start to the 2021 Juneau fishing season! It’s only been two weeks since we started running our fishing charters for the year and already we smashed last years record for biggest salmon caught on the boat. 2020’s biggest salmon was a 33 inch king that we tied into in August, which was a big fish. Two days ago we landed a 36 inch king (pictured above). What a great start to the summer!
And it’s not just the salmon who are showing up. The halibut have returned in full force too. We have had great success targeting them at around the 300ft mark. Yes, you have to reel up an angry halibut from 300ft! Don’t worry if you have never fished that deep before, Captain Alan and Tanja will give you all the encouragement and advice you need battle it up to the surface and land it.
