Angling for a Whopper of a Good Time in Beautiful SE Alaska – For two unforgettable days on our adventure to Alaska, we experienced our “trip maker” — salmon fishing with Captain Allen and Tanja. Being from Montana, we have fished all manner of beautiful rivers and lakes and caught (and released) more than our share of fish. But watching our 9 year old land a large silver salmon was pure joy. Capt. Allen and Tanja are an incredible team, wonderful guides, and excellent with children. They kept the stoke level up the entire time. Not that we needed it. We caught many salmon, rarely going longer than a half an hour without a strike. More than once we had a “doubled header,” two of our lines striking at the same time. Which was so much fun! Here are other important details that made for a great trip: they have a new, spotless and comfortable boat. They easily accommodated our trip expectations and my pregnancy nausea concerns. Capt. Allen tied his own flies “to match the hatch.” We did not have a 16 year old deck hand helping us while the captain sat at the helm — a common occurrence. Instead, Capt. Allen and Tanja were hands on the entire time! Definitely book with these guys, and if you have kids, bring them!!!

Our family of four had a exceedingly positive experience last Friday(08/06/2021). We saw humpback whales showing off their heads and fins. We were told the chance of seeing killer whales is rare and unlikely but with the patient and hard work from Captain Alan and luck on our side, we saw a family of killer whales; we were so crazy happy. We also caught multiple halibuts and salmon, and our boys lost a couple of fights to both fish; but the whole experience was truly special. Bravo Captain Alan and Tanja who taught our boys how to maintain safety on a boat and have fun with fishing even when it was their first time.
Amazing! We were constantly kept in view of wildlife and treated like family… Thank you for a day we will never forget.
Best excursion of our cruise. I wanted to do a private whale watch and not be on one of the packed full tour boats. We had a perfect time.

We had heard great things about Captain Alan and so we reserved our trip well over a year in advance. It was the best excursion of our cruise! With young kids, it was nice to have a private trip so that we didn’t have to worry about our kids bothering other guests.
Captain Alan was the perfect guide for our 6 person family – my parents (80,78), my sister, brother-in-law and my wife. It was as if he knew exactly where the whales would surface…. The pictures, videos and overall experience was unbelievable and one that we will never forget.
Went on this wonderful tour out of Juneau. Small Boat tour…more personal, you can hear and see what’s going on. Saw many overloaded boats came and went in the time we were on the water, so we saw heaps of whales, sea lions, and bird life. Captain Alan was great. Highly recommended.
